When creating my digipaks and adverts I had a problem where the quality of my images were hard to keep due to its large size, every time I wanted to scale down my image it would become very pixilated. I found this website that made my image a vector which allowed me to keep my quality.

The font is very important when creating a design as it gives the audience the inital feel for the music and genre. These fonts stood out for me as they had the urban feel and also has a edgy and creative look.
Insipiration for the Digipak and Advertisements

Influences
I have finally made a conclusion of what I want my video to be like, I really like the quirky humour that has been portrayed in Modesteps 'Feel Good' video with the girl traveling around with a breif case. I want to combine it with the dance and interesting shots used in DJ Fresh' Hot Right Now'. I think that combining the two would make an interesting and fun video to shoot.

Influences on Music Style
As I pointed out in the video I feel that urban culture can
be interpreted in different ways and is up for different opinions and
criticism. However I was able to identify the conventions of urban culture and
how it may impact on a style.
Location: I felt that urban location was usually something
or where that has been slightly worn down and does not signify wealth or
maintenance but necessarily run down and grimy. An Urban location could simply
be in the suburbs, local estate, warehouses or rooftops. I believe they
represent a middle social class and how they enjoy life without luxuries which
is a positive outlook on life.
Fashion: I feel this can spread across a large area, urban
culture fashion usually associates itself with either the retro and or old
school look in the 80’s, it can vary. I believe fashion sense depends on the
area the person may live within an urban culture. Some may think bright and
retro colours are more urban but some may think darker and warmer colours are,
or sometimes lots of denim or leather. However the fashion sense of an urban
culture is constantly changing as the creativities are always embracing
different clothing.
Activities: of those in an urban culture are also very broad
but they range over skill and creativity. However there are some very
conventional hobbies and activities the urban culture are known for, such as
dance, skateboarding, photography, graphics and music. I feel these are the
more conventional hobbies/ activities as there are no boundaries and people are
free to express themselves in any shape or form.
Research Into Artists Career
Looking at an artists through its career is very important as I can see how they became the artists they are now and also their influences in life. I also had a look at how commercial input can affect an artists and different peoples opinion on keeping things mainstream or not.

Music Video Theory
I did research into the theory of music videos, this deepened my knowledge about music videos and also reminded me what the audience pay attention to in music videos. It also helped me understand the deconstruction of the video and what would be successful. This has clarified my ideas for my music video.
Research Into Electro House
Researching about Electro House is important as it will tell me the foundations and how it developed. It can also hint to me the type of audience it has and what they expect. I also looked into some of the more significant music videos in the genre electro house to see what was effective and how successful the singles were.

Music Channels
I felt it would be good to research about music channels as it is the main platform for music videos. I wanted to have a look at the main channels and how important they are in society. It has widened my knowledge on music channels and I will be able to identify what sort of music channel my own music video would go to. Although many music channels show only mainstream and chart hits.

Music Videos that Inspire Me
Dj Fresh ft Rita Ora – Hot Right Now
I adore this video purely down to the high energy and feel good vibes. There are lots of different tricky camera shots that are really interesting and really expose the talent in the video. I Love the vibrant colours and the funky urban style the people in the video have. I also really like the fact that they use really common locations that have been stylised and made really edgy and fun. There is a very good sense of fun and excitement in this video that really captures the spirits of the actors which passes onto the audience.
Nicki Minaj - Pound the Alarm
This video really shows the high energy and carnival atmosphere with its vibrant colours and flamboyant and outrageous costumes. Also the weather in this video makes it seem luxurious and fits in with the gratification of escapism and luxury. What I also love about this video is the fact there are so many people involved in this video including creating it. It has such a large number of cast that it makes it seem like everyone is involved and really shows the community and co-operation. My favourite part is when the confetti explosions blow and it really shows the excitement and party.
Dj Fresh – Gold Dust
This video inspires me because it shows the community spirit in more lower class locations. It features lots of young people coming together showing skill and ambition in a hobby that they were exposed to since they were small. This really shows passion and dedication. The passion is shown when the whole community gets together to celebrate and it makes the audience feel as if anything is possible and that there is good in all places. Rope jumping harmonises with the quick pace of the song and compliments the vibes.
Florence + The Machine – Spectrum
This video really inspires me because of the combination of classical ballet, powerful rhythm and futuristic stage feel. The staging and lighting of this video really shouts power at the audience and creates a mysterious and fantasizing atmosphere. I also like the fact she features ballerinas in the video as it connotes strength in elegance and beauty. Florence herself really makes a stand in the video with her beautiful cut dresses that illuminate in contrast to the staging and edgy cut red hair. This is a performance based video that really catches my eye.
Research Into a Music Director
Music Video Director
As I will be going into directing my own music video, researching about a music video director was a good idea as it showed me the different techniques and inspirations a director may have. I chose a director that directed one of my own favourite music video that suited into my genre. This gave me a critical insight on music directors and their intentions.
